Promoting voluntary engagement of young people for a green environment and in the fight against climate change
The VOYOGER project includes a comprehensive, tangible, practical and innovative environmental theme and initiatives for planning, designing and implementing innovation processes in all types of organisations and in different contexts. The project will produce modern, accessible and engaging materials to guide target groups towards greater environmental friendliness and awareness. The project is creating youth engagement and active participation through an online educational game based on an EU wide competition made of challenges in their daily lives.
Doing that, we help young people understand and act concretely for the Green Deal which is not only an EU policy and ambition but a societal transition process with key objectives that need everyone to get reached. VOYOGER connects directly the EU Green Deal to understanding and it gives young people concrete possibilities to act for it.
It's the young people who can play a very important role in the fight against the climate change. The project will train innovators,, youth workers, trainers and leaders to become real change agents and volunteers in the field of environment and climate change.
In the 21st century, we experience a sharp increase in environmental and social problems such as global warming, climate change, pollution, population growth, waste disposal, loss of biodiversity and deforestation have increased, leading to ecological disasters that require urgent solutions.
Although the European Union has taken important steps towards climate protection in recent years, EU climate measures still need to be improved. The measures in the individual member states vary and many of them haven’t yet been implemented sufficiently to reach the EU-wide targets. Therefore, general satisfaction level remains “unsatisfactory”.
One third of the EU population is under 30 years old, and these 170 million young Europeans will shape the future of the continent. The European Union supports youth programmes and initiatives that provide an excellent framework for climate action through various projects such as Greener Youth. In addition, the EU uses Youth for European Climate Action to further develop these initiatives and help them make a difference for the climate and their communities.
The project aligns with the EU’s goal of a climate-neutral continent by 2050 and is committed to the Roadmap to a Sustainable Future. It’s in line with the European Green Deal strategy and EU recommendations. One of the main objectives of the project is to provide young people with the necessary skills and online tools to raise their awareness of climate change and equip them with the necessary competences to act concretely and become more environmentally aware.
The fight against climate change is becoming increasingly important, as it’s been threatening the environment and human life for years. Environmental and climate protection measures are among the most important current and future priorities of the European Union.
It’s the young people who can play a very important role in the fight against climate change and reduce its impact.
The project will train innovators, youth workers, youth trainers and youth leaders to become real change agents and volunteers in the field of environment and climate change. The project will provide digital tools and applications for social development, environmental protection and fight against climate change.
At the same time, the project aims to contribute to the fight against the devastating effects of climate change by increasing the skills and qualifications of the target group, bringing young people together and engaging them in voluntary activities of a new format. The project is about promoting volunteering and active citizenship among young people through volunteering and solidarity actions based on their daily life and their will to adapt or change their attitude toward a more aware and eco-friendly everyday life.
Doing that, we help young people understand and act concretely for the Green Deal which is not only an EU policy and ambition but a societal transition process with key objectives that need everyone to get reached.
VOYOGER connects directly the EU Green Deal to understanding and it gives young people concrete possibilities to act for it.
