THE GREEN DEAL: EU’S NEW GROWTH STRATEGY
The Green Deal’s guidelines, strategies and legislative proposals concern various sectors and areas that are different from each other, but interlinked.
The transition to a climate-neutral Europe requires huge efforts from citizens, businesses, entire sectors, politicians. It will not only mean changes in our lifestyles, consumption, production, mobility. It will also mean that many workers will have to give up their jobs in traditional fossil fuel-based sectors and move into new environmentally friendly sectors and ‘green jobs’.
For example, in the construction sector, the Green Deal for Europe is expected to create 487,000 new jobs in the EU by 2030.
